Wet Code: Atonal Atoll is a collage-like medley of adapted underwater field recordings mixed with fragments of fictional research diary entries.

The 9-minute audio piece blends together influences from old-school radio plays, nature documentaries, slow radio movement, and ASMR techniques.

A selection of underwater field recordings picked and mixed by Cheryl Tipp—Wildlife and environmental sounds curator at the British Library—that we heard on NTS radio a while ago, has been especially inspiring.

You can listen to it here.
